Game Time Information
Some schedules for sports such as the road race, bowling, orienteering and trivia are already posted online. Others such as volleyball, slo-pitch and ultimate will be scheduled once all sport commitments have been received on April 6th. These schedules will be posted online by the first week of May.
The schedules will include all of the information your team will need to know about your specific start times, as well locations, maps, etc. for each event.
Company Coordinators will be provided with the Roster booklet at the Company Coordinators meeting in May.
The Roster is a form with space for all team members’ names and signatures. The signature affirms that the participant has read the waiver that appears on the reverse side of the roster. If you photocopy the rosters, you MUST put the waiver on the back side of the roster. Your team captains will be responsible for bringing the completed and signed team rosters to each event.
When your team arrives at the facility to compete, they must first approach the Registration Table and register as a team.
• Step 1 - The Team Captain will gather the (minimum eligible*) team and present the Team Roster/Waiver that has been filled in and signed by each team member.
• Step 2 – Each participant must then present corporate and photo identification to prove who they are and that they are employed by the company they are playing for each day. NO ID - NO PLAY - NO EXCEPTIONS
*All teams must register with a MINIMUM ELIGIBLE TEAM for all sports, each day of play.
In volleyball for example, the minimum number of players that you can play volleyball with is 6, so your team can check in as soon as 6 eligible players have arrived. As the rest of your team shows up they can check in and join you on the courts. If you only have 3 players on hand, you cannot check in because that is not a minimum eligible team.
All games must start at the designated time. Please remember, GAME TIME IS FORFEIT TIME, but an official may allow for a grace period if deemed appropriate. See individual sport rules for further information.
CANCELLATIONS/NO SHOW PENALTIES
Once the schedules are finalized it is very difficult to accommodate changes. Facilities are booked, officials are ready, volunteers are arranged, equipment is allocated and opponents are waiting.
If your team is scheduled to compete…. PLEASE be there.
Cancellations must be in writing and emailed to the Corporate Challenge office – firstname.lastname@example.org.
If a team must cancel their participation in a sport, the penalties are as follows:
CANCELLATION: Within 48 hours of your event start time.
Teams that provide written notification (by email) that they are canceling out of an event within 48 hours of the start of the event will be penalized 5 points. A company with participants who register at the event but are unable to register an eligible team will be considered a cancellation and the penalty will apply.
NO SHOWS: No notification of cancellation
A NO SHOW will result in a 10-point deduction and disqualification from that sport for the following year. A NO SHOW is a team that has not provided any notification that their team is not participating in an event prior to start time of the event. A company with participants who register at the event but are unable to register an eligible team will be considered a cancellation and the -5 penalty will apply.
MISSING A GAME/MATCH:

Teams must supply their own equipment except game balls, horseshoes, slo-pitch bases, ultimate discs and badminton birds. Golf balls, darts, racquets, slo-pitch bats and other equipment are the responsibility of individual players. Teams will also supply their own water or supplemental drink for athletes. Teams can provide their own uniforms or t-shirts but they are not mandatory.
While we request a concession at all of our facilities, it is not always possible for one to be on site. Have your volunteers and athletes come prepared with their own food and beverages. Please adhere to the rules each specific facility has regarding food and beverages being allowed on the property. Smoking and alcoholic beverages are prohibited inside public indoor facilities. Alcoholic beverages are NOT allowed at any Corporate Challenge event unless they are purchased from the venue. Anyone caught with alcohol not purchased on site will be immediately disqualified from competition. This is strictly enforced at all Slo-pitch venues.
All events will take place as scheduled – RAIN OR SHINE. In the event that safety is an issue due to severe weather (high winds, lightning), Corporate Challenge Management will have the final decision as to event delays or cancellations. Any cancellations will be communicated to the Company Coordinator and will be posted on the website, Facebook, Twitter and emailed to Company Coordinators.
All protests regarding rules, eligibility, and unsportsmanlike conduct MUST be brought to the attention of the Sport or Site Coordinator AT THE EVENT during the actual event. The Sport and/or Site Coordinator will address the situation immediately and decide on a course of action if necessary. There will be no protests based solely on judgment calls. If the rule or regulation in question does not appear in this handbook or on the individual Sport Rule pages, then the decision of the referee or judge is final. If no judge or referee is available, a Corporate Challenge Sport/Site Coordinator, Games Manager or Advisory Committee member will make the final decision. A protest can be filed on a question of eligibility of an opponent; however, all protests must be made in writing, with proof that the player is ineligible. All protests must be submitted within 24 hours of the event. Protests will be settled by Corporate Challenge Management and/or an appointed committee.
